Vision Statement
Berean Baptist Church desires to be a biblical church that seeks God's glory, presence, and leadership.  To that end, we are committed to proclaiming to God's perfect law and His glorious gospel of grace in Jesus Christ throughout the world, and to "defending the faith once delivered to the saints" (Jude 3).  "Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."  (1 Corinthians 10:31).

Mission Statement
In response to God's grace and love toward us, the mission of this congregation is to glorify the God of the Scriptures by promoting His worship, sharing His Word evangelistically, belonging to a God-centered fellowship which encourages us to grow spiritually while serving Him, and acting with love and compassion toward those in need (Matthew 22:37-40; 28:16-20).

Berean Baptist Church was founded on July 6, 2008 with the goal of providing strong Bible-believing and teaching church in the Newton, Morgan, and Walton County area of East Metro Atlanta.

Where does the name Berean originate?
The name of our church refers to a specific passage in the Bible which can be found in the Book of Acts. This passage refers to the town of Berea. Even though Paul was saying some dramatically new things to them, the people there (known as Bereans) listened to Paul's preaching with a fair and open mind. They did not reject or accept his message based on their own preconditions. Instead they diligently checked the Scriptures each day to make sure what Paul said was true. Paul's message was true and many believed!

Acts 17:10-15 says, “10 Then the brethren immediately sent Paul and Silas away by night to Berea. When they arrived, they went into the synagogue of the Jews.
11 These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so. 12 Therefore many of them believed, and also not a few of the Greeks, prominent women as well as men. 13 But when the Jews from Thessalonica learned that the word of God was preached by Paul at Berea, they came there also and stirred up the crowds. 14 Then immediately the brethren sent Paul away, to go to the sea; but both Silas and Timothy remained there. 15 So those who conducted Paul brought him to Athens; and receiving a command for Silas and Timothy to come to him with all speed, they departed.”

Experience God’s Love at Berean
To us, friendship is much more than social get-togethers. It is having friends we can turn to in time of need; friends we can really trust. What better opportunity is there to build friendships that are more than just casual acquaintances than with people who are committed to Christ?

People today need answers to life’s problems, now more than ever. Personal opinions and traditions of others have never satisfied the honest questions. So, where are the answers? They are found in the pages of scripture! That’s why our commitment is to practically communicate Biblical truth.

Jesus Christ said that the clearest demonstration of our faith is genuine love. This means that we are committed to the joy of sharing this message with ones who do not yet know the Lord Jesus Christ — those who have never experienced the forgiveness of sin and the promise of eternal life in Heaven.
